Anusuya Workspace treats correctness in money and people data as a hard requirement and is designed around keeping people from reaching a dead end.
It runs a real business’s payroll and books. That puts the consequence of a wrong amount close to the work of building it. The standard is whether the record can support the decision someone has to make from it.
An incomplete record needs a way forward.
Someone doing payroll should not have to guess why they cannot continue. If the work needs a missing detail or a decision from another person, that is part of the path the design has to consider.
We start with the intention: what is this person trying to finish? Then we consider the interruptions. Information may be incomplete. A previous step may need correcting. The person may return after doing something else. Each is an ordinary condition of business work.
The design principle is to leave a person with an understandable next step. An error message is not a resolution. The question remains open until the person knows what needs attention and where to take it.
Money makes “nearly right” insufficient.
A salary amount is either the amount due or it needs correcting. An entry either describes the transaction or it needs attention. We treat this as a requirement of the work, rather than a benefit to advertise.
In practice, this means asking what a record represents, which decisions it depends on and what a correction means for the next step. It means considering the difficult cases before declaring an ordinary path finished.
People data deserves the same discipline. Dates and decisions about a person can affect money and obligations later. Small details cannot be dismissed just because they occupy a small part of a screen.
A handoff is part of the job.
Business work rarely belongs to one person from beginning to end. The quality of the handoff determines whether the next person can proceed or has to reconstruct what happened.
We consider the context the next person will need, not just whether the current person can finish their own step. A customer conversation, a people decision and a money record each have a life beyond the first entry.
This is the point of bringing people, customers and books together. The joins deserve as much attention as the individual pieces of work.
